Stream Machine
about the project
Sunlit Studios is a faith based content company with an ambitious vision: a streaming platform that brings together podcasts, series, movies and books under one roof. Think Netflix or Disney, but built around religious content and faith driven creators. Stream Machine is that platform. The project came to BrandStar Digital in two parts. The graphic designer on the team built the full Sunlit Studios brand from scratch. Once that foundation was in place, I took over to design Stream Machine itself. Designing a streaming platform is a different challenge to designing a website, and this one came with an added layer of complexity. The platform covers four different content types, each with its own user behaviour and its own set of conventions. The research phase was extensive, looking at how streaming platforms, podcast apps and reading platforms each approach their user experience, and finding a way to bring all of that into one product that felt unified and intuitive. The design is clean and elegant, and deeply on brand. The Sunlit Studios identity is built around a signature gradient and we carried that through into the platform itself, using it as a design element in a way that felt intentional rather than decorative. The focus throughout was on ease of use, smart content suggestions and an experience that felt effortless from the first screen. The client responded so well to the platform that the Sunlit Studios website brief followed shortly after, which I also designed. Development was handled externally and whether either product is live I cannot confirm. But the work delivered was complete, the client loved it and the designs speak for themselves.
